Foot Patrol. |

Dear Resident,
An officer from the Leigh Neighbourhood Policing Team was on foot patrol today when they noticed two males on Lord Street acting suspiciously. One of the men was carrying a reusable “bag for life” and was seen entering a retail store and showing staff the items inside the bag. As the pair left the store, the officer detained the male carrying the bag. The bag was found to contain various beauty products. The 37‑year‑old male initially claimed he had purchased the items, but later changed his story and said he had received them from his uncle. As the male was unable to provide proof of purchase, and the officer could not confirm whether the items were stolen, the products were seized. They will be returned if the individual produces the receipt he claims to have—though I won’t be holding my breath. Stranger things have happened. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the member of the public who stepped in to assist with the disgruntled male. It’s reassuring to know that there are still people willing to lend a helping hand.
